Very cool building with hidden food gems inside - walk in and explore and find some great eats or enjoy the space. I was there for a local event and to grab a drink at the bar.

Go to Rufus for a fantastic cocktail, and Cut for the the mixed green salad I added shrimp and I was not disappointed. I would highly recommend checking out the space, love the atmosphere and options for a bite to eat. Need to go back to check out a few more items.

Rating is for the Mercantile itself not the restaurant. I love this space! The art deco style of the old department store creates a really cool atmosphere. Take time to admire the details such as the elevators with old-time buttons, original escalators, and gorgeous clock.
We give the food 3 stars. We had Nanis and the side dish was delicious. I forgot the name but it had cucumbers and a grain. The paneer meal was ok, dry, not a lot of food for $9. The soaked donuts were the biggest disappointment. They looked so good online! But in reality they were small and so dense they almost tasted stale and had trouble soaking up the liquid.
Definitely check out Merc on Main. It's a super cool addition to our beautiful city!

This former retail shopping space has been turned into a bustling food culture center! My parents tell stories of shopping here for clothes back in the 80s. Now, I am eating the most comforting spaghetti, pho, and BBQ. How neat is that? Ordinarily, the one meal I am not willing to travel over is spaghetti. Nobody makes the gravy better than my Nani. However, the aroma of ripe stewed tomatoes simmering for an eternity had me floating through the air like a cartoon. Intoxicating. The subtle distinct sweet smell of basil, oregano and thyme filled my nose. Liberating. Spaghetti is the ideal meal for heartaches, stress, and happiness.

If you are in downtown Rochester and are looking for a place to eat look no further than the Mercantile on Main. Located inside the great Sibley's building they have a couple restaurants in there to suit the need of just about anybody.
The main attraction would be La Bola. Which is the first restaurant you see when you enter the build. They also have Me Gusta which has Caribbean Cuisine and Broth which is a culture of medium liquids (Pho)
I like the Protein bowls at Broth the are very tasty and very well made.
If you're looking for breakfast, lunch or dinner I'm sure you'll find something you'll love.

I thought this was pretty unique. It's like a upscale food court, with many options. I was there early - so some were not open yet. There was a space over in one corner with games, a bar in the center, plenty of seating. I was in Rochester for business and stopped here for a quick bite to eat. Loved it and highly recommend.

This is a wonderful space where entrepreneurs can open their food dreams is small spaces sharing one large dining area. We decided to try the Pho and it was delicious. Happened on this establishment because it was freezing outside and their door was open. Went in for warmth and stayed for the food.

My boyfriend and I stopped by this beautiful spot and got Rooteins. The wraps we got were absolutely delicious - honestly the best we’ve ever had. Tiffany, who made our food, was so kind and gave us amazing service. It’s also a great place to study or just hang out. We’ll definitely be back!

Mercantile is so beautiful 😍 First food court in Rochester that's not in a mall. I love it great service & great choices. I've sitten at the bar had cocktails & a fresh melon salad 🥗 I've also gone to the French Creole restaurant delicious!

Nice place to sit and eat casually in Downtown Rochester. It's a food court but not like at a mall-- it's quiet and in a historic building. Right now there's a Christmas display to one side with animatronic Santas. I'm not big into the stuff, it's a bit creepy but I digress. This is a solid place to get a bite to eat. Unfortunately, places go out of business and leave, like the pho place that used to be here. So come here and eat! I got a Rooteins salad for $10. It's a good salad! There's a coffee bar too, that had pastries sometimes.
